Beaming!

Yesterday, Dace brought home his very first report card.  It was fantastic!  His teacher's comments made me beam with pride, warm my heart and brought tears to my eyes.  We went for our parent teach conference this morning and she had nothing but rave reviews for our firstborn.  She explained his test scores to me.

It is a national test that students do 3 times a year to mark their progress.
Math - the national mark for above average is 149.  Dace scored a 170.
Reading - national mark is 142.  Dace scored a 159.

She is amazed at his writing abilities.  He is starting to use punctuation on his own and she can always count on him to set a good example or explain to the rest of the class how he worked out a problem.  The class is at an A reading level.  Dace has advanced to a C level.  She had no concerns or complaints, just looking for permission to continue to push him so that he is stretching and learning and not being bored because the rest of the class is well, average and he is above.  By their standards, he is 6-8 months ahead of the class and is in the top 3 for marks for the class.  He is very social, has lots of friends and is a great helper.

This is one proud mama.
