11 months old twins

Oh my goodness.  We are at a day count til they turn 1!  What?!  What?!  We made it?!  We survived?!
Time to start planning a party!  Woohoo!  It's going to be pink and blue and thanks to Pinterest, I have some really fun ideas.

The update on the twins - I think there is a really good chance both are walking in the next few weeks.  Ammon stood up on his own yesterday in the middle of the room.  Miss loves cruising back and forth along the couch and tried walking away from the edge this morning.  They are getting bold.

Ammon has learned a high pitch screech thanks to Zade.  It is not pleasant and it better be a really short phase.  It pierces my ears and I am not excited for the first time he belts that out in sacrament meeting, probably this Sunday.

They love solids- Miss is a huge Cheerios fan.  She sees that yellow box coming her way and just gets giddy.  Once they hit her tray, she promptly take a fistful and jams it into her mouth.  I gave them penne with artichoke, sausage and sun-dried tomato pesto for dinner last night, one of our favorites, and they could not get enough.

Most nights they make it through til 6 or 7 for a drink.  We are done with bottles, they are full time sippy cup users now and we just began weening them off formula and onto milk.  No problems there either.

They love to cluck their tongues and have sing-offs in their cribs or anywhere really, always seeing who can hit the highest, loudest note.

Both love to climb and going up the stairs is a big event.  They squeal with delight when I open the gate and allow them to go up.  Dace follows Ammon and Zade is partnered with Miss.  The big boys crawl behind them in case they fall.  No one has fallen yet and they get a real kick out of going up the stairs on their own.  Now we have to teach them how to slide down properly.

Miss cut her third tooth this week and a molar is starting to come through too.  Her face looks so much different to me with that one upper tooth filling in her gummy smile.

I need to weigh and measure them and will post that later.

Rub A DubDub, Four in the Tub

And the thunder rolls.

We are going on day 10 of overcast and rain.  All thanks to Storm Isaac that is coming closer and closer but will not affect us directly.  This is as bad as its going to get.

So what is the best thing to do on a rainy, thundering evening?  Why a bubble bath of course!

31st Birthday

Let's see, my day in review- slept in....well, more like rested in.  Who can really sleep with all that noise going on?  Showered and got cute, played with the kids, put babies to bed, fed the boys lunch, went for a massage, went shopping but bought things for the kids and not myself (classic), hung out with the fam, ate birthday cheesecake that Lisa made for me, redid getting cute and went to dinner with Dallin, bathed and bunked 4 kids, blogged.  Not too shabby of a day.
Still rocking it, even at the ripe old age of 31.

The Cousins Visit

We had a crazy great time with the cousins.  9 jam packed days of fun and chaos.  We went to the pool, the beach, shopping, Charleston to the Aquarium which was a huge hit, lots of train track building, making forts in the backyard, sleepovers every night, camping out in the tent for the weekend in the boys room, legos, blocks, toys, treats and snacks and more treats, so much fun!  It was so great to watch these little ones play together and to listen in on some of their cute conversations.  I loved having my sister here to talk with and share kid duty and kitchen duty with and just hang out.  It was so great.  Can't wait til next year!  Unfortuntately, my computer crashed and died half way through their stay and most of the photos I took are stuck on there til I get a new one and remove the hard drive.  But here are a few taken afterwards.

Busy at the Beach

"Look at all that Posterity"

The cousins are in town!  My sister and her family arrived late last Saturday night from Ottawa, Canada.  They have 4 kids.  Together, we have 8 kids under 8, including 3 under 1!  It's been a crazy house of fun!  We have been going non-stop since they arrived and still have another 3 full days together.  i'll give the full recap once they have headed back but for now, enjoy a couple photos.

Crawling and Cruising

The twins are picking up some serious speed these days.  Both can pull themselves up and are oh so proud of that accomplishment.  They like to tussle and Miss can hold her own...most of the time.  She got Ammon back big time 2 nights ago when he stuck his fingers in her mouth.  She looked at him with this look like "This is for sitting on me for 5 months!"  And then she chomped down and he cried and she thought it was so funny.  Ammon was bawling and all red faced and I was laughing hysterically because their little personalities are starting to come out and you can see that "twin language" starting to develop as well.  Very cool!

the Big Brothers Tag Team

These 2 are connected at the hip these days and it is so fun to watch!  Now that they can bike together, they are out many times a day putting those pedals to good use.  Usually it is the first question out of Zade's mouth at my bedside in the morning - "Bike?  Bike?"  So they bike a lot and play a lot and are fighting alot too but that is the stage they are in and they are learning to work through that as well.
