I'll Help You Pack, Mama!

We are getting ready to clean and pack and move out and Dace thought he'd give me a hand with the kitchen. He found a new hangout in the process.

Sweetie in a Sweatervest on Sunday

Say that three times fast! ;)

Walking Practice

Dace took his first steps this morning before church! He took 3 independent steps to Daddy and then did it again! This is us practicing with him after Sunday dinner.

Mutiny in the Highchair

As previously mentioned, Dace has been going through a fussy bout with eating. He no longer wants his baby food mush. At first, I thought it was his cold and then because he was teething but after a couple weeks of it, I thought maybe he was having a sweet tooth (and my all-wise, all-knowing mom agreed. What would we do without mothers? I really have no idea. Thanks mom! Love you!). This happened when he was about 5 months old after too much apple sauce. So I took him off fruits for a few days and he is getting better but still a challenge. My children will NOT be picky eaters. I don't care how much work it takes. This was Dace's first taste of spaghetti. Not such a hit. But we did discover a few days ago over a meal of veggie rotini that he likes garlic. So his last few suppers have been veggies and pasta sauteed in olive oil and fresh garlic and he chows down.
Does this look like I'm impressed with your culinary skills, mom? I don't think so.
I quit. There is nothing here that is working for me.

Do I sense a hint of garlic?

Dace's first Easter

Ah, sometimes ya just gotta laugh so you don't cry, right? Such was Easter morning. I was all set to go. First, I started off with Dallin's camera to take some live footage. Two minutes in and juuuust as Dace reaches for his basket, beep beep, the battery dies. Fine, switch to my camera for stills. Clicking away, 8 shots in and beep beep battery dies. That's it, I quit. Going back to finish getting ready for church. But it was still a fun morning and a great day.

Little boys in sweater vests make the world a nicer place. I took this with my phone. He's on my lap at church, waiting for the meeting to start and checking out the ladies, I'm sure. Follow the trail of treats! The stash
Dace in his new Batman Pjs. Still cozy and rosy cheeked, fresh out of bed. It didn't take him long to figure out how to get to the treats inside

Blossoms on our Block

I thought I'd give you a break from the usual pics and change things up. We are lucky enough to have flowers year round on the island. But Spring is most spectacular. These were taken on our block yesterday. It was right before it started raining so it's a little dark in some of them. And then a couple pictures of the tree tops because I love them too.

outside our front kitchen window.

Spanish moss. it's magical. and spooky.

This one is my favorite. So detailed and delicate.

Bubbas at the Beach

It's tradition to go to the beach in between Sunday conference sessions. I remembered my camera this time.
He loves his daddy.
Giddy- up!

Nice action shot. My hair looks fab.

I think this might be our first family photo on the beach. Dace is in the dark. Can you see all the sand he's been eating? there's no stopping the kid. Now if only he'd eat real food with the same passion.

attitude.

Lazy Friday Afternoon

My little Huck Finn. He is so adorable in his bare feet and fat ankles. I love it. He is so good about wearing his sun hat. Anytime he's in the stroller he'll gladly wear it and when we're on the beach he doesn't even try to pull it off. Such a good little boy. Sunday marked his ten months and he is 31 inches, 24.2 lbs.

This is Dace's favorite new cardio. He covers some serious distance and gets huffin' pretty good. Then he sleeps like a baby all night long.

The PJ pants are ridin' a little low. I didn't even notice til I uploaded this. Oh well. It's how we roll.
