At Church in Argyle

I simply adore little boys in sweater vests. Whenever I see them on sale, I can hardly turn them down. I am so excited to find a matching set for the boys at christmas. This was today at church.

He Just Keeps on Growing

Zade is 7 months on Saturday and went for his checkup last week. The latest stats are:

weight: 20.13 lbs (90% percentile) He's actually lost almost 2 pounds since he started crawling.
height: 28 3/4 inches (95% percentile)

Our awesome Pediatrician (who is also our Bishop) says that bigger babies like Zade tend to develop a little slower but Zade is advanced even for normal size. Ahhh, proud mama.

We have gone through another cycle of clothes for him too. He is currently wearing 12 month onesies as well as pjs. The pjs below were Dace's (obviously) and he wore them at 9 months old. Zade is a couple months early. He's going to catch up in size with his older brother. By the time he's 2 and Dace is 4, people will probably think they are twins.

This pic is for Auntie Menolli because I know she'll appreciate it. ;)

Our Labor Day Getaway

How did people ever travel long distance with kids before the days of in-vehicle dvd players? Dace is concentrating very hard on Robots.

Southern BBQ for dinner. Zade ordered ribs.

Dace could get used to hotel life.

He didn't care what was for breakfast as long as it included bacon.

Maybe I should start renaming my Sunday school lessons....

All ready for touring the USS Yorktown.

Dace could not believe how big the boat was that we were going to ride on.

Excuse me, but you look like you're 4 years old. That is not allowed. But darn you're cute!

He loved all the little skinny hallways to walk through. He just ran and ran for hours.

The skinny, super steep staircases were another favorite. And there were plenty of them.

Happy boy! Loving the great view from his upright stroller seat.

Pit stop! Don't mind us.

Best buds.

Flight deck.

Cute little toesies. I couldn't resist.

Hi, mommy!!!!

He loves being a big brother.

Fresh from a power nap and chillin' in the backseat.
It was a quick trip but we had so much fun. Can't wait to do another one.

Happy?

This is one of Dace's favorite conversations to have these days-taking inventory of who's happy.

Getting Groceries

As usual, the boys fell asleep on the way home from grocery shopping today. What was unusual is that they both STAYED asleep after being unloaded from the car. Zade slept for an hour and a half on the floor and Dace knocked out a 3 hour nap. If only I could capture how tired I was after shopping with them today. Buying groceries for a week with the two of them in one cart pulling another cart behind me to actually put things in. It was the first time I attempted to do the train of shopping carts. It was a bit awkward to push and pull and steer at the same time but I survived to tell the tale. Won't be making it a habit though...hopefully.

Our Little Tadpoles

With the exception of one time, we haven't gone swimming as a family all summer because Dace seems to be afraid of the water. This was something ww wanted to overcome quickly for several reasons but wanted to go about it the right way so as not to create some childhood phobia. For the long weekend, we went to Charleston Sunday night for an overnighter and stayed at the Sheraton, which has an indoor/outdoor pool. After dinner, we went swimming. Dace threw an absolute fit when we tried to put him into his swimmer diaper. So we resorted back to his diaper then headed for the pool. He was excited at first and went in with Daddy but then got scared, started crying and ran to sit on the couch. I headed in with Zade and the 3 of us swam around, talking to Dace and trying to gently coax him in. He was watching Zade and was soon laughing at the fun Zade was having. So I went and sat beside him and suggested we sit on the edge with out feet in. He agreed and had a blast sitting there kicking in the water. Then he progressed to sitting on the top step, then into the water on Daddy's back, then me holding him in front and swimming all over the place practicing his kicks. The fact that there were two cute la-las (little girls) for him to watch and want to play with was also great encouragement for him. By the end of the night, he didn't even want to get out. When we got back into town Monday afternoon, I told Dallin we should carpe diem and swim with Dace as much as possible til it cools off. So we headed over to the Staff's and had another family swim party. He still didn't want to wear his swim dipe but he was so excited to get in the water. Progress. One little splash at a time.

On The Move...and picking up speed

Not sure if I've mentioned that Zade is full on crawling now. He mastered it almost 2 weeks ago. My prediction was right- crawling before my birthday. He looks pretty cute in this clip. Here's proof of his new skill that is picking up speed daily. He is already venturing out to all corners of the main floor and has tried going up the stairs twice. Baby gates have been installed.

The Sunbeam Song- robot version

Dace is in love with all things robots as of late. The pixar cartoon Robots is his favorite movie and last week he figured out how to sound like a robot. This was too cute to pass up.
