He's the Baby, Gotta Love Him

I work late usually 5 nights a week.  Which means I miss 5 bedtimes a week.  (both a pro and a con)  Today I was home early in preparation for a working road trip this week.  The kids were in bed but still awake.  I went in and tucked them all in, hugs and kisses for everyone.  But that wasn't enough for Ammy.  He crawled out of his bottom bunk, I gave him another hug then put him back in.  He didn't like that.  He flopped over onto his stomach, buried his face in his sheets and cried.  I left the room.

Several minutes later, he was still crying.  I know this cry.  It's the "Let's see how long i can cry til someone does something to fix it" cry.  The Baby of the family cry.  I have recently come to the conclusion as to why most babies of the family are 'spoiled'.  Because by the time the parents get to the last child, they are so worn out and over the crying and the whining that they just give up and will give in to whatever demands necessary to stop the crying and the whining....I digress.....anyway,  So I didn't think it was fair to the other 3 in the room to let him cry it out much longer.  They were all tired and I didn't want  Ammy to keep them up.  So I went in and hauled him out.  I can't stand and rock him anymore, (we really need to weigh the kid) and there are no rockers here so I plopped down on my bed to finish what i was doing, programming my new phone.  He cuddled in and, eyes closed, continued to 'cry', read make noise, for a few more minutes.  Then he couldn't keep making noise anymore and he drifted off to sleep.

It's been a long time since a baby has fallen asleep in my arms.  But sometimes, no matter how BIG that baby gets, sometimes he still just wants his mama.

Quote of the day

Me- "Zade, next week is mother's day!  What are you going to do for me?"

Z- "uhhh....get a pinata"

Penquins and Sharkies and Nemo, Oh My!

I was gone for a week for work and promised the kids I would take them to the aquarium when i returned.  I was a little hesitant because it would be a 4 vs 1 event but it went really well.  They stayed close and listened, no baby leash needed and I didn't have an anixety attack or stress breakdown either! yay!

The fat penquins were my favorite.  I want one.  I could sit there all day and watch them.  But i think the longest we lasted in front of any exhibit was 45 seconds, and that was watching the super speedy otters swimming back and forth.  The shark tank and walkthrough was a big hit too.  Because the crew was moving along so quickly I didn't get many pictures or video but I did get this short clip:

okay so the clip is on my phone and it's not letting me post it so i will have to figure out another way.  please stay tuned,.....

Isn't She Lovely

This morning, I got Miss showered, dressed and hair done.  She was standing on the step playing with something while I did her hair.  Pig tails, then added a bow.

"Okay, Miss.  all done.  Look!" I said, pointing to the mirror from behind her.

She looks up, gasps, and says, "oooh, I pretty!"

Yes, my sweet Miss, yes you are.

isn't she lovely....
