The Holidays in Review

I am totally such a slacker!  I can't believe how behind this post is.  Usually Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are posted in real time, not over a week later!  Anyway, here it is.

Christmas was awesome.

We spent Christmas Eve with our friends and their little guy.  All the kids love them so much and it was fun to share our (awesome) meal together and all the excitement and hype that comes with little kids on Christmas Eve.

Chasing Nev around and around the couch- burning off that energy!

A BIG, HEART-FELT THANK YOU to all 3 sets of Grandparents for making this Christmas possible.  Thank you so much.  We could not have done it without you.

It was the first morning that Dace and Zade both understood what was going on and were so excited.  No scared, weirded out, shy moments, no sir.  It was full steam ahead.  When we came downstairs, true to their individual characters, Dace went straight for the presents, Zade went straight to the table for the food spread.

Because what good is Christmas morning without a meltdown....or two?

Best stocking stuffers ever - silly straw glasses!

So the day after Christmas, which we celebrate in Canada as Boxing Day, I left Dallin and the kids and all their new playthings to fly out to my Brother's wedding in Portland, OR.  It was a blur of a weekend but so much fun.  His new wife is so great and looked like a porcelin doll on their wedding day.  Almost all of my family was there and it was so great to see everyone again.  It had been over a year since I had seen any of them, more for some.  Of all the pictures I took, though, I don't have any of the whole family on the wedding day.  I'll post that and more once I get them.

New Years Eve was the day after I returned.  We kept it low-key...somewhat.  I cooked up a Chinese Food feast, we let the boys stay up an extra hour, then D and I watched The Dark Knight Rises (SOOOO good!), caught about 45 minutes of NYC festivities, kissed at the ball drop then went to bed.

The Christmas season was a great one.  Full of fun and peace and family time and good food and snuggles.  Just the way it should be.  Onto 2013.  This is OUR year....
