Breakfast and Bed Head

These kids can have some seriously crazy bed head in the morning.  Miss can have a poofed out rats nest some mornings.  But lately the boys have been extra spiky.  Ammon rocks this rooster tail every single  morning.  Dace trumps him with multiples and Zade is just usually a little puffy-eyed.

The twins are on a yogurt and toast kick and the boys love helping themselves.  I buy small yogurts and apple sauces and put on the low shelf in the fridge, their shelf, so they can self-serve in the morning.  they know that whatever I put on that one shelf they can help themselves to any time of day.  They get a kick out of being independent and it buys me a couple more minutes in the morning to wake myself up before getting out of bed.

But sometimes that little self-serve shelf backfires.

Like this afternoon.

Zade decided he needed another apple sauce.  He also decided that Ammon needed his own yogurt.  I was upstairs at the time, unaware in the moment.  Zade quickly decided after only a bite that he would save his sauce and needed to wrap it in plastic wrap.  The twins now had access to a full yogurt cup, Zade had so graciously removed the top, and the plastic wrap drawer.

the result?
Blobs of sticky pink yogurt all the way out to the deck.  The twins decided yogurt on the veranda would be quite exceptional this afternoon.  and what better way to enjoy yogurt than with your fingers?!  They also decided that the veranda was missing something - oh, about 30 feet of unrolled waxed paper.

Once outside Miss decided she didnt want to share.  She wears the pants in the twinship.  She won the yogurt tug of war and Ammon dramatically claimed defeat.

not even flinching at his antics, Miss ran away with her yogurt...

Sometimes I get bored of playing referee and would rather just document the incident on film.  It's a good learning experience for them, right?  I think so.

Zade has been dressing himself for almost a year now but some mornings after me telling him 87 times to do so, he is so proud of himself for actually getting it done that you get this -
Cutest 3 year old ever.
