Saturday morning at the Beach
It is a beautiful spring morning here today and since Dallin is thisclose to being done the magazine, we took a family outing to the beach. Those boys needed to run off some pent up steam- not enough outdoor time this week or something. So off we went and it was a gorgeous morning.
I am loving the new updates to Picasa. Most of these pictures are using the 1960s filter. I love how they look!

It Has Been A Week
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........................................
it's been a week. You know those kinds of weeks? This was one of them.
Dallin and I continue to tredge along in survival mode. Auto-pilot, zombie-like survival mode. I won't bore you with the details. I feel like all I do is think and try to figure this situation out, never coming up with answers and nothing but spinning my wheels, trying, trying, trying, failing, failing, failing and it is exhausting. I know it is the same for him. So I don't want to talk about it here but extra prayers on our behalf would be extremely appreciated.
Trooper of the week award goes to Zade. He was diagnosed this afternoon with a raging ear infection, a 9 out of 10 level, according to the doc. We thought he had an eye infection since he's had green drainage in his right eye since Tuesday. Then today he started tugging on his ear and the nurse said to bring him in. It wasn't an eye infection. It was his ear infection and because he is so congested in there, it's draining through his eye ducts. Isn't that crazy?! When I put him to bed tonight, it was coming out of both eyes now. It's so green, you'd think it was snoz. Sorry, probably an overshare but oh well.... Then he also has an infected bug bite on his hip that is starting to puss up and a wart on his pinkie. Other than being more clingy than usual, he is happy and as energetic as ever. Like I said - Trooper of the week.
The highlight of the week was having our new help start- Miss Deborah. She is an older woman who has already raised 4 kids, including twins! She is currently living with us til we find her accommodations. She is wonderful! The boys love her, she is great with the twins and we all click very well. She is very sweet and so helpful and a great addition to our family. But more about her and that later on.
Dace's newest craze is all about singing. He has the cutest little singing voice I have ever heard. He talks about primary all week and is so excited to start school next year, another popular topic of discussion. He is getting so great at coloring! He hardly ever goes out of the lines anymore; it's amazing. I'll have to scan and post some of his latest pieces of art. So great!
Babies- Nev is rolling around like crazy and trying to scoot up on her knees. She will roll from one side of the living room to the other. Ammon will roll once and that's enough. It take a bit more energy for whom we now affectionately refer to as Mr. Plumpy. Dace gets such a kick out of calling him that. But when on his tummy he will do a full push up and hold himself up there for long periods of time. I guess he has the arms strength and Nev has the abs. She is fascinated with her hands and he is in love with his feet. It's funny to walk into the room and they are side by side on their backs, one playing with toes, the other with fingers. Ammon has the eating solid food technique downpat and Nev is finally starting to get caught up. Ammon's front bottom teeth could cut through at any moment and both leave major drool puddles wherever they go.

When I was finishing feeding Ammon lunch today, one minute she was playing with froggy,

Dace diddies
It's barely 10am and we've got 2 already!
First, Zade has been putting on the dvd "Faith in Christ." The opening scene is when the Savior calms the storm when he and his disciples are on the boat. I walk into the living room just as that part was ending and Dace says, "Mommy, I didn't know Jesus was magic to bring out the sun and stop it from rainin' "
Dace was done with eating his toast and didn't want his crust so I told him to go put it in the garbage. He comes back over to me- "The garbage is pewy. I think it must get me throwed up."

Not Much Longer
In the last 2 hours, Little Miss has had 14 ounces plus her solids for supper. If she keeps this up, she won't be Little Miss much longer. I think today was the first time in her life she ate as much as her brother. It's 7:07pm and both are in bed asleep. With all that food in them, here's hoping for a 12 hour night. But knowing Miss, she'll be up in an hour to hang out and watch a movie. She likes doing that lately.

The first of Many
The twins were on the floor playing tonight. Nev was rolling all over the place. Ammon was on his tummy playing with one toy. Nev seemed to only roll in one direction and so when she wanted to roll towards the ball but ended up by the wall in the other direction she wasn't too happy about it and a little confused. I picked her up and put her beside Ammon where she had a big spit up, calling for a wardrobe change.
I went upstairs to get her a new sleeper. I could hear her still fussing and knew that she was settling down, getting ready to sleep. Then her cry went from an annoyed cry to one of pain. I figured that Ammon probably rolled over on her. Coming down the stairs, her cry intensified and I knew she was hurting. I walked into the living room and she was still on her tummy beside Ammon but he had rolled onto his back and had his fingers up her nose and in a death grip. No matter how short I cut his nails, they still feel like razors so I knew that had to be so painful to her.
I carefully released his fist from her nose and picked her up. When she saw me, she shrieked at me as if to say- "How dare you let me get into a situation like that! Do you know what that just felt like? Get me the cheese grater mom. I'll shove that up your nose and see how YOU like it!" She was so ticked! I felt bad but it was a little bit funny at the same time because she was so dramatic about it. I have no doubt that it hurt because he loves to claw those little talons into my hand when I am feeding him. I can only imagine getting that up the nose!
When she finally calmed down, I apologized to her once again but realized that this is only the first of many times in life that a brother will accidentally make her cry during play. One of only a few downsides to having 3 big brothers.
(Yes, technically Ammon is younger than her by 4 minutes but let's face it, he will always be bigger.)

Driving Little Miss
I call this Miss' pink Cadillac.
Can you tell I have Mary Kay on the brain?
Dace will push her around the house and she loves it.
Zade fixes his own snack
I think "The Very hungry Caterpillar" has influenced Zade.
On Tuesday, he ate through 4 apples, but he was still hungry!

conference weekend
All I can say is I am grateful that conference is printed in the Ensign next month. Yesterday's sessions were pretty much a write off. We discovered today that we could watch it on the Mormon Channel on our media streamer so we had it on the tv today. But there were some distractions- like Zade's need to constantly be making noise, All.Day.Long. And poor little Dace had pookies all day. He spent the entire day on the couch, only getting up to pee. Hopefully tomorrow will be back to normal for him. He's a trooper though. I hated throwing up as a kid and usually cried. But he took it like a man and barely made a squawk. Such a brave lad.
Zade thinks he's a triplet. Try telling him otherwise. |
Little miss gets prettier every day. Her eyes and lips are really starting to develop. And the girl loves to bounce! |
Dace on the couch with snugglie. |
Ammon is all about holding on to his toesies these days. He tries to pull them up to his mouth which makes him hold his breath because his milk ponch is so big it's quite the ordeal. |
Zade being Zade. |
She will forever be flanked on each side by protectors. Can't wait to see this scene in high school years.... |
Laid back and listening to the prophet. |
